LOCAL - The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is empowered to engage in development, redevelopment and physical improvement activities for the benefit of the downtown environment and the maintenance of its economic stability - The Beacon Council is Miami-Dade County's official economic development partnership. - The Office of Community and Economic Development of Miami-Dade County administers Federal and State funding that supports the development of viable urban neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County characterized by decent housing, expansion of economic opportunities and the preservation of historic properties. - Invest In Miami is a public - private initiative advanced in partnership with the City of Miami International Trade Board to promote inward real estate investment in the City of Miami. - The Empowerment Trust provides tax incentives and performance grants in order to create jobs and business opportunities in the most economically distressed areas of inner cities and the rural heartland - Tools for Change aids small businesses and non-profits in reversing many of the negative trends that characterize the economic condition and small business growth. Assistance provided include Business Development, Legal Assistance, Financial Counseling, Micro Loans, Job Training, and Urban Development Planning. - The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce concentrates on four priority areas – membership services, economic development, advocacy, and finance – in addition to the Chamber’s commitment to quality of life issues. - The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce' s mission is to promote the continued growth and development of the South Florida businesses. - The Overtown Civic Partnership and Design Center assists neighborhood residents to visualize, plan, and carry out substantial community and economic development, housing, and other physical improvements, as well as workforce and leadership development. - The City of Miami's Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) serves the districts of Omni, Southeast Overtown and Park West in its redevelopment efforts. - The Inner City Economic Forum is the country's only national leadership network focused on business-led inner city economic development. The Forum was founded in 2003 as an ambitious and bold effort to create a national movement around the revitalization of America’s inner cities. It has emerged as a powerful mechanism for generating innovative ideas on inner city economic development and transforming ideas into action.

STATE - Resources for growing a small business in Florida - A resourceful site with information about all of Florida's Enterprise Zones. - Florida Division of Corporations' online information, research, and electronic processing service center - A not-for-profit corporation created and funded by the State of Florida with the sole purpose of providing assistance (financial and informational) to small business Florida exporters who have been turned down by commercial lenders.

FEDERAL - Get helpful tips from the IRS themselves as well as access to programs for individuals and businesses. - Counselors of America's Small Business is a non-profit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide - The Small Business Administration is a federal organization that provides financial, technical, and management assistance to help Americans start, run, and grow their businesses - ACCION USA's mission is to make access to credit a permanent resource to low- and moderate-income small businesses owners in the United States. By providing small or "micro" loans to men and women who have been shut out of the traditional banking sector, ACCION helps build their businesses and increase their incomes.

WORLDWIDE Library provides easy-to-access, clutter-free, comprehensive resources regarding the leadership and management of yourself, other individuals, groups and organizations. Content is relevant to the vast majority of people, whether they are in large or small for-profit or nonprofit organizations. There are approximately 650 topics in the Library, spanning 5,000 links. Topics include the most important practices to start, develop, operate, evaluate and resolve problems in for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Each topic has additionally recommended books and related Library topics. - The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a non-profit research and education organization whose mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.
