City of Miami Solid Waste Department will be CLOSED in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday There will be NO GARBAGE, BULKY TRASH OR RECYCLE PICK-UP on MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2017

(Miami, FL January 10, 2017) -

In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, City of Miami residents are advised that there will be NO GARBAGE, BULKY TRASH OR RECYCLE PICK-UP on MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2017. The Solid Waste Department will be closed and will resume normal operations on  Tuesday, January 17, 2017. City of Miami residents should hold their garbage, recycle and bulky trash until the next scheduled pick-up day.


Residents whose recycle pick-up day falls on Monday, January 16, 2017, will be provided with an alternate recycle pick-up on Wednesday,
January 18, 2017
.


Normal sanitation service shall resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Residents are reminded to:

  • Place garbage, recycle carts and bulky trash out in front of their home on the public right of way and away from phone/cable/electricity lines, under trees utility poles, fire hydrants, fences, vehicles and/or 5 feet away from any structure.
  • Residents can place their Christmas tree separate from their regular trash. Christmas trees will be picked up during the regular bulky trash collection day from January 2 through January 31, 2017.

The City Mini Dump Facility will also be closed on 
Monday, January 16, 2017.
